Roles in the extension school process

Extension School Management

The role Extension School Management is responsible for providing the learners with the services that are defined within the extension school and within the board of directors of the university. It is the extension school management's responsibility that the services we communicate to the learners correspond to the services actually delivered.

Extension School Support

As described in the FunctionalDescription, the role Extension School Support is responsible for support online education. In detail Extension School Support should:

  • accomodate that learners are admitted on time
  • ensure that learners are registered in Osiris on time
  • learners that withdraw from a course are reimbursed
  • inform instructors on online aspects of their course (such as lists of learners)

Functional Identity Management

Embedded in the ICT organization, Functional Identity Management is responsible for managing and controlling the registered identities in the university's meta-directory.

For the extension school the relevant responsibility of Functional Identity Management is:

  • Ensure that users are properly derived from identities.
  • Ensure that user have the proper privileges.
  • Ensure that (relevant) user data is correct.
  • Ensure that user data is properly secured.
  • Ensure that all connected ICT systems can properly identify users.

Learner

The prime target for the extension school. The learner is the role of the person who wants to learn from the extension school.

The learner is responsible for:

  • providing TU Delft with her name and contact data.
  • providing TU Delft with all information necessary to be admitted in the course(s) she registers for.
  • paying any fees due for registration in the course(s) she registers for.
  • participating in the course(s) she registers for.
